Exercise benefit in breast cancer linked to improved immune responses

(Massachusetts General Hospital) Physical exercise increases levels of cancer-fighting immune cells in animal models of breast cancer and slows the growth of tumors. In addition to lowering risk of developing cancer, structured exercise programs could help improve therapy for females with existing breast tumors. Exercise may also significantly improve treatment of breast cancer with immunotherapy drugs.
